We tend to hold onto past experiences and allow these to guide the present moment. The problem with this is that we tend to hold onto the negative experiences and forget about the beautiful and joyous experiences we have been blessed with. We all hold onto these negative experiences and carry them around with us each and every day.

Aren’t you tired? Don’t you feel weighed down? I know that I would feel exhausted, cranky and sad as I moved throughout the day. Some days it felt like the entire world was against me.
Then one day I realised, why am I carrying around the past with me? Why am I allowing past experiences to weigh down my present and my future?
The past is an important part of who you are, without the experiences you have been through you would not be the person you are today. Not only do the tough experiences help to shape the person you have become, those beautiful joyous moments and memories have also helped to shape the amazing person you are today.
When you allow the past to guide your present and future, you are holding onto fear and stopping yourself from truly experiencing the present moment.
Remember that everything in life happens for a reason, and though sometimes we are unable to understand what the reason is for many years, it doesn’t make those experiences any less valuable. All the joy and the pain, love, and heartbreak has lead you to where you are today. Each experience has taught you something about yourself and allowed you to grow.
There is only one you in the world and you are exactly who you should be at this very moment.
