Do you have something to hide? Or even more to the point, are you hiding something from yourself?
We spend so much of our time looking outside of our self that we often forget to turn our gaze inward. More often then not we spend our time looking at others because the thought of looking inward makes us feel uncomfortable, maybe even anxious.
In the wise words of Neale Donald Walsch, “if you don’t go within, you go without”.
Often what we seek to help others with, judge or gossip about and even what makes us feel uncomfortable about a certain personality type is an area that we are lacking within our self. It is a reflection of an internal experience that we are not content or at peace with.
If you are judging someone based on their physical experience is it because you are not content with yourself physically? Would you like to be healthier and feel energetic?
Are you always helping others with their ‘problems’ and seeking out others you can help with their ‘problems’? Are there some areas of your life that you see as ‘problematic’ though are not ready to address?
What about that person who seems to always be chasing their dreams and living a life that you see as unrealistic, being around them just makes you annoyed and uptight. Do you feel annoyed and uptight because they are living their dream and you are not chasing yours?
Spending the time to go inwards and reflect upon something or someone that may be triggering you will bring to light an area within yourself that you are holding onto, hiding away and hoping will just fade away.
For some triggers, it may be as simple as becoming aware of it that diminishes the effect that it has on you. For others, it may take some work to release the negative energy that places in your life.
The first step to being able to release the hidden blockages in your life is to become aware of them, without awareness, nothing can change.
“The Universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you already are.” ~ Rumi
